Our Mission:
We identify caregivers through community outreach and nonprofit partnerships, connect them through restorative gatherings and peer support, and resource them with conferences and practical tools. Together, we strengthen caregiver well-being, reduce isolation, and build long-term resilience for families navigating disability.

IDENTIFY
Caregivers
We proactively identify caregivers through targeted email outreach, community gatherings, and collaborative partnerships with nonprofit organizations. By meeting caregivers where they already are, and by building new pathways into underserved networks, In Our Arms Caregiver Network ensures that those who are often invisible in traditional support systems are seen, acknowledged, and welcomed into a community built for them.
CONNECT
Caregivers
We cultivate meaningful relationships through curated in-person and virtual Caregiver Connection experiences, including community coffees, restorative spa days, therapeutic coloring sessions, and facilitated mental health workshops. These intentional touchpoints create safe, nurturing spaces where caregivers can share their stories, develop peer support networks, and experience moments of rest, renewal, and genuine belonging.
RESOURCE
Caregivers
We equip caregivers with practical tools and sustained encouragement through our annual Caregiver Connection Conference and the development of targeted printed materials, including guides, devotionals, and informational resources. Each offering is designed to empower caregivers with the knowledge, strategies, and support they need to navigate the complexities of their journey while prioritizing their own well-being.
Programs & Impact
For more than twenty years, Juli Henderson has walked alongside caregivers through speaking, writing, coaching, and community building, reaching hundreds of families in person and virtually, often in partnership with nonprofits and faith-based disability ministries.
On October 24, 2026, that work reaches further still, with the first annual
Strength for the Journey Caregiver Conference
at Morgan's Multi-Assistance Center (MAC) in San Antonio, Texas.
With the launch of In Our Arms Caregiver Network, a Texas nonprofit, we're building the
infrastructure to carry this work forward for the long term.

caregivers need to sustain themselves for the long road ahead.
Meet our Board of Directors
Juli Henderson
President
Caregiver advocate, author, speaker, and recognized nonprofit leader throughout San Antonio. After caring for her son, Robert, for 18 years before losing him to a rare mitochondrial disease, she founded In Our Arms to help caregivers feel seen, connected and supported on their journey.
Karen Keough, MD
Founding Board Member
Board-certified pediatric neurologist with more than 30 years of experience specializing in child neurology and complex neurological conditions. She served as Robert's neurologist, dedicating her career to walking alongside families through some of their most difficult seasons.
James "Chris" Henderson II, MD
Treasurer
Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Physician and retired Air Force Colonel whose service and caregiving for Robert alongside Juli shaped a mission to build sustainable caregiver support systems for other families caring for their loved ones with disabilities and special needs.

Founding Board Member
Area Manager, Texas at David Yurman, dedicated to leading high-performing teams to achieve organizational excellence, and rooted in the Texas advocacy and caregiver community bringing deep local relationships to the In Our Arms Caregiver Network.
Jessica L. Henderson
Secretary
Director of Business & Legal Affairs for XBOX Music & Talent at Microsoft, and nonprofit board member across faith, mental health, and social justice organizations. As Robert's sibling caregiver, she brings governance and legal oversight to ensure the network's integrity and compliance.
